The Position

Our dance is more than an activity. It is more than a 5th Sunday time filler. It is a viable vehicle that God is using to develop, strengthen, and minister to His people. The dance you and I offer up is an integral and contributing part of what God is up to concerning His people...if we understand and are in our position.

Dancers! Assume the Position

The word "position" means "proper or natural location in relation to other items," or an "arrangement or ordering of parts or aspects in relation to another or to an external source of orientation." (Webster's Unabridged)

What is the dance minister's proper location in relation to what God is up to concerning His people? Where do we fit? How do help to advance His cause? If we get understanding about our proper location (our position) and purpose ourselves to assume that position (by arranging our ministries and dances so that they cooperate with and advance His purpose) - then we truly become integral and contributing partners with Him. Then, we can be assured that His presence, His power, and His blessing will reside in, and emanate from our ministries and the dances that come out of them.

Well the book is called Dancers! Assume the Position and it investigates this very thing. I remember God telling me years ago that I had to look at my ministry through dance from a global perspective...beyond the 5-10 minutes I spend physically dancing in fromt of the people...because what we do reaches far beyond that and into something much greater.
