I just sent the following message to my US Representative and Congressmen:
I am writing to propose that the members of Congress make it mandatory that ALL members of Congress must select from and purchase the same health insurance plans that are made available to the citizens. I would hope that this would ensure that we ALL have full, reliable, and affordable health care. I am not suggesting that it should be free for everyone, and I am opposed to some - including elected officials - receiving special "entitlements" that are not available to the average citizen. I think most reasonable people would find this fair and equitable, and would show that our elected officials are accountable and interested in the welfare of those who elected them.
