Weigh-In-Wednesday Question

Christ said in John 15:4
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me (KJV)
Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.(NIV)

Have you ever felt disconnected from Christ, even while being a consistent member of a church or ministry?
Have you ever been in a position in which you have been called to lead but felt that you have given all that you can and have nothing more to give?
How do we remain in or abide in Christ... How can we keep that connection?

    Amen!

OMG!  At last year's conference, one of the facilitators did a teaching entitled "Slow Way Down."  Immediately, I thought that I was in the wrong class because I was wondering how to manage my time more effectively so that I could get more done in a given day.  But as I listened, I realized that when we slow down, we hear better, we can think better, and the tasks that we are assigned to do are handled more effectively.

Thanks so much for your words of wisdom.  Sometimes we get so caught up in our "duties" that we are not mindful of our vertical relationship. It is a wonderful thing to help others and minister to others, but until we fill up on the Holy Spirit we can do nothing.  Even Jesus separated Himself from His disciples to spend time with the Father.  We must realize that it is not us who is doing the work but it is the work of the Holy Spirit.

  • We practice His Presence...

  • You just stand, which often requires ceasing to push towards your goal. Standing means to stop, be still, examine inward and outward, without judgment. After putting together the parts and pieces of what will assuredly be revealed during this time, let your spirit of discernment order your steps. In this way, I have learned, you are able to show yourself studied and approved to advance to the next level of spiritual growth.
  • Yes! I know I have been there before. And as the word says you have to abide in the Vine, it wasnt until I took some intentional, personal time to just abide in Him that I was able to feel restored, refreshed and reconnected.
